Before I stepped into the magical world of weddings, my career was pretty unremarkable. I was busy running my translation office, organizing Business English classes, managing my family of four, and watching Bridgerton or Mentalist in the evenings.

My beginnings

Just short of 10 years ago, a wedding planner asked me to officiate a symbolic wedding for her couple from the US because their documents somehow got lost in the mail and the legal wedding ceremony was suddenly a no-go. I still remember the moment before the ceremony started. I was standing on a beautiful balcony of Hotel Toplice in Bled, waiting for the bride. My heart was beating loudly in my throat, my hands were shaking. ‘I just need to get through this one, and then I’ll never do it again,’ I promised myself. Half an hour later I knew I was going to break that promise. Was it the tears that welled in the groom’s eyes as he was watching the bride walking towards him, was it the shy ‘I DO’, or the moment when they both burst into laughter ̶ I have no idea. But I knew for sure that something beautiful had happened and that I wanted to be part of something like this again.

Darja officiated our small elopement wedding in a very professional and considerate way. She had a warm personality and made surewe had a great overall experience. She prepared a lovely intimate and very eloquent speech about our love story with greatattention to detail for our guest/dog and our precious memories.

Neither of us have been to many weddings, so didn’t know what to expect. We met Darja for the first time at our ceremony, and within probably one minute of Darja speaking, my husband and I, as well as our guests, already started to get emotional. It wasn’t just a “typical” ceremony (though those are also beautiful!). Darja was encompassing our love story into the ceremony. She spoke so eloquently and it felt like she had known us our entire relationship. Immediately, I knew this ceremony would be even more special than I had originally thought, because of Darja and how she was officiating our ceremony. Even now, when I look back and think of our ceremony, I get emotional because of how special and beautiful it was, because of Darja’s words and how she presented everything at our ceremony. Our guests still talk about it to this day.
I cannot thank Darja enough, and if you are looking for an officiant to marry you, I cannot recommend her enough! Absolutely exceeded all our wishes, and our ceremony was the most special part of our day.

We picked Darja for our wedding and would like to give the highest possible recommendation. She was very professional, but at the same time it felt like she's our friend that has known us forever. She spoke to both me and my husband separately before the wedding and based on our stories she wrote a wonderful speech that hit everyone's hearts.
